Greeting from the Dixon Dolphins.
I hope the new season is starting off well for all of you. Please see below for some updates regarding the Dixon Dolphin's 2007 season.
We will be hosting a Potluck/Parent Orientation on Friday Night May 18th starting at 5:15pm on the grass behind the pool. We will discuss the season and answer questions starting at 5:30. We will be dividing up the roster alphabetically by last name and sending out a list of what course to bring.
Immediately following the Potluck (at 7pm) we will have an "everyone swims" FUN relay meet. The everyone is directed at the PARENTS. If you would like to jump in the pool and swim a few races with your kids please bring your suits on Friday night. There will be no regular practice for any of the age groups on that night.
May 19th - Intersquad Meet and Pictures
Our intersquad meet will be Saturday May 19th. We will be starting pictures at 7AM (yes, 7:00am). That's early but in order to get pictures of almost 200 kids and complete the meet, we have to get started early.
Special note regarding swim suits:
"I wanted to remind everyone that if you have NOT gotten your team suits that you must act NOW to insure that you have them for the Inter-Squad Meet and Team Picture Day on May 19th. Robben’s Department Store has many in stock but will order any sizes they do not currently have in store. Samples of the suit can be found on the team website www.dixondolphins.com. You will see that there are two different styles on women’s suits (wide strap vs. thin strap) for you to choose based on preference and comfort. Thanks"
At the intersquad meet each swimmer will swim all the races for his/her age group so we can get baseline times for each swimmer in each race. At regular meets each swimmer will do three individual events per day (exception of 6 & U who only have 2).
May 19th Fundraiser - Sweet Stuff Ice Cream & Deil (153 North 1st Street Dixon, CA 707-678-8230) will be giving the Dolphins 20% of any purchases between 11:00am and 3:00pm. Please call them and order lunch during our meet and/or stop by after the meet for Ice Cream.
Please don't hesitate to e-mail or call me with any questions. We look forward to a fantastic 2007 season.
Thanks,
J. Kraig Katzenmeyer

We are very excited to announce a new program this year.
Robin Fulgham will be spearheading a program for all the swimmers this year where for each time they improve on their time in an individual event they will be given a bead to add to a chain that they will be able to keep with them all year.
We are very excited about this program and the fact that it will allow every swimmer something to get motivated for during every race throughout the entire season.
Thanks to Robin for taking on this fantastic project.
I would also like to publically thank Teresa Cristobal for the fantastic job she has done setting up or Pizza, Ice Cream, etc, etc fundraisers.

Hello swimmers and parents,
I would like to take a little time to explain to you about the Meet of Champions. This is an optional meet and will take place August 5th and 6th at the Woodland Community Pool. You must qualify in order to swim in this meet, and you do that by finishing in the top ten at our league championship meet. This is a great meet, with the fastest summer league swimmers in our area competing. I want to highly encourage all eligible swimmers to attend this meet.
Because this meet is just a week after our championship meet, we must get everyone who wants to attend signed up at championships. The entry deadline is July 31st and they will not accept any late entries. The person to contact at the meet will be Kraig Katzenmeyer. He will have sign up sheets and waiver forms and will get all the information to the coaches to get the kids entered in the meet. All entry fees with will be covered by the Team.
For those who qualify and enter the Meet of Champions, we will be practicing from
Thanks,

It’s that time again…… Championships are right around the corner! Championship Weekend is Saturday and Sunday July 29th and 30 th at the Schaal Pool at UC Davis.
For those of us that are new to this (and not so new) it’s always good to review what happens this weekend. Saturday consists of the IM, short free, back stroke, 6 and under free relay and medley relay. Sunday has the long free style, breast stroke, fly and the free relay. Preliminary heats start in the morning with the top 10 qualifiers in each individual event moving onto finals in the afternoon with relays completing the afternoon. As Tina stated in an earlier email, kids will be entered in all events that they have a qualifying time . If you currently don’t have a qualifying time, the coaches will be working on getting all swimmers a qualifying time during the next two meets. Relays will be assigned the day of the meet, so check with a coach if you need to leave before completion of that day. It can possibly affect three other Dixon Dolphin teammates.
But, before any of this can happen we need you! As always, meets don’t happen without parent participation and this weekend is no exception. The number of kids and spectators involved in this meet add a few duties to the volunteer sheet which should be available Friday July 14 th. We will be circulating the list at the next two meets as well as the Bud’s Night-Out Fund Raiser on Monday July 24 th…..don’t be shy. The expectation is that everyone commits to volunteering for one session per day (approximately 3 hours.) Please check the volunteer sheet when it comes available and make this meet happen.
Last item, we will be having our end of the season party on Tuesday, August 1 st 6PM at the pool. We will have pizza available for $1 per slice with the team providing sodas and water. We take this opportunity to recognize the fantastic achievements of all the swimmers and it is a fun get together for all the families. Hope to see everyone there.
As always…..if you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email me.

We are just starting to gear up for Championships. For those of you who have never been, Championships is run differently than a regular meet. Kids are entered into all events. They will be held at UC Davis at the Schaal pool on July 29th and 30th, Saturday and Sunday. The meet is split up with half of the events each day. We run prelims then finals and 1 relay each day. We don’t set up relays until the day they are run so it is very, very important you check with the coaches before you leave. You don’t have to sign up, but if your child is NOT going, then please let us know. We send our entries in by July 17th.

Hello everyone. A few things. Night practice for the 11 and up will begin at 8:15 and go to 9:15.
Lastly .. there was a problem with the ribbons. I’m sorry we didn’t notice this when we printed them. Many families are missing ribbons. We will have our ribbons available and the meet results. You can come and get the ribbons you are missing and hand write the times on them. Unfortunately, we are not able to reprint them. It is a new program and our new 8 lane pool and I must not have had the settings correct. I apologize for the mix up to you all.
There will be no practice on Monday July 3rd or Tues July 4th.
